History is made every season at the ACC tournament, but on Friday, the tournament hosted some history that has been a season in the making. Kendall Marshall, a sophomore point guard at North Carolina, became the ACC’s all-time single-season assist leader during UNC’s 85-69 victory against Maryland.

Marshall finished the game with 12 assists, giving him 311 for the season. Craig Neal, the former Georgia Tech point guard, had long held the conference record after finishing the 1987-88 season with 303 assists.
